Is anyone else really annoyed with the new trend on facebook with posting stuff to your status "for breast cancer awareness". I'd buy it, except they're doing it in a weird cryptic way and the emails say something like 'lets really get guys going'... which makes me seriously doubt whoever started this could care less about breast cancer and only wants to start dumb trends on facebook. I can't even log in there right now I'm so annoyed by it. 1 month, 3 weeks ago
Sometimes I will accept a friend request from an old classmate or friend's kid and then I will wait a few days and delete them. I don't want to hurt their feelings by rejecting them but I figure they have so many friends they won't noticed that I snuck out the back door. I have issues. 4 hours, 12 minutes ago
In the shared house I'm living I always see messages between housemates pop up on facebook it's crazy. They're in the same house. Does anyone else experience this needless type of local facebooking? 4 hours, 34 minutes ago

Facebook? More like address book. Can anyone honestly they don't have 'friends' just sitting there on a list? 3 weeks, 2 days ago
I can't be as honest as i want to be on facebook because i have to many big-mouthed cousins. 1 week, 2 days ago
Anyone else getting tired of facebook? With all the site redesigns, farmville notifications that I don't care about and random people I haven't talked to in years coming out of the woodwork, it's becoming stale. I'm sure this has already been a topic of conversation, but I just wanted to vent. And the thing is, when you do add those people you haven't heard from, they still don't engage you. It's become like something to cross off your to-do list rather than a communication tool. 1 week, 5 days ago
Well, maybe you guys gonna hate my new Facebook site. i gonna make some advertising anyway^^

I've been "Hiding" more and more of the stupid crap I don't care about, and it's leading towards an interesting conclusion: Real life friends from the past are stupid.
Yes, I enjoyed catching up with people I haven't seen in ten years, but KEEPING up with them? Nope, sorry.
Which leaves me wondering what I've been doing with it. I've mostly avoided adding people I only know online, and kept to people I know or at least have know IRL at some point, but who is it I actually WANT to keep up with? The people I INTERACT with, IRL or otherwise.
Guess it's time for a bit of change.

I'm considering abandoning my Facebook profile. Very few good things come out of it for me. Anyone have any compelling reasons why I should or shouldn't? 1 month, 3 weeks ago

I'm considering setting up another FB account. That way I could keep all my high school friends/people I'd rather keep at arms length on one account, and people I want to interact with on the other. I've seen people do this before, and I'm starting to think it's a good idea. 4 weeks, 1 day ago
Does the Simler community have any thoughts on Facebook and their recent privacy changes? >

Alright. I'm giving in and mixing social networks. I feel bad ignoring friend requests... Just know that I filter myself a lot more on FB. For any REAL conversation, please find me on Simler. :D 2 months ago
Not a big fan of facebook. I'm only on there because that is where I can find my best friend, my mom and my daughter. I didn't like most of the people in high school and the ones who I did like, I have kept in touch with. Got a friend request the other day from someone who I couldn't stand, so it just sits there....awkward! Prefer twitter. Much faster and I have "met" people around the world. 4 months, 1 week ago

I don't really like Facebook. I think I actually preferred MySpace. I don't know what happened, but for some reason Facebook has become what everyone is using. I don't like the total lack of customization for profiles. Yes, some of the shit produced by MySpace users was atrocious and shouldn't have been allowed...but I think I preferred to have control over certain elements within my profile. Facebook is ugly. It's boring. No one stands out or seems unique there. And I'm sorry...but in my opinion, FB has become EVEN MORE cluttered by ugly graphics and stupid automatic posts than MySpace ever was. I think the layout is confusing in some areas. I wasn't a huge fan of MySpace, for many reasons. They deleted my account for no apparent reason TWICE, and that was enough to discourage me from bothering to create yet another profile on there. I guess I think that the trend of social networking has been a bit blown out of proportion. People have taken it to a stupid and comical level, which I find annoying. Don't even get me started on Twitter. I don't care what you're doing! Ugh! Anyhow. Not a huge fan of any of these sites, but if I had to choose, I would go with MySpace.
Die, Twitter.
