Saw Alice in Wonderland tonight. Some good parts, but plenty of not so great moments. I give it a generous 6.5/10. 1 week, 3 days ago
Just came back from seeing Shutter Island. I quite liked it. Leonardo Dicaprio actually acted as a believable character, the visual atmosphere was amazing, and of course lots of weird/disturbing stuff. :P 2 weeks, 1 day ago
I just saw Exit Through the Giftshop tonight at Sundance. It was one of the most interesting documentary style movies I've seen. Gave some good insights into the world of street art. I'd recommend seeing it whenever it comes out. 1 month, 3 weeks ago
Finished up an interesting film from China called 13 Princess Trees. (That's the name of the school where the film takes place.) Heavily structured from self-censorship, what's left out becomes more powerful than what's allowed to be shown. www.imdb.com If you think you know China, see this movie. 3 months, 1 week ago
Just saw The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnasus. I must say that this movie was really really built up for me prior to me seeing it, mostly because it was directed by Terry Gilliam and stars the incredible Tom Waits. I must say I wasn't impressed, but it was still pretty good. Anyone else see it? It felt very half assed and thrown together. I realize that due to the death of Heath they had to compromise some parts of the movie, but overall it seemed confusing and lacking. 2 months ago
Avatar is the second most profitable movie ever.
That Cameron guy knows some tricks.

I just watched An Education. The writing is fantastic and Carey Mulligan is sublime. 2 months, 1 week ago
Watched Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and District 9 tonight on DVD. Potter always delivers, but then I'm a fan of the series big time. District 9 was interesting as a social commentary and the effects were great, but I was bored about 30 minutes in. 2 months, 2 weeks ago
I finally saw Avatar and my first 3D movie. I'm pretty sure I never want to see a regular movie again. 2 months, 2 weeks ago
We tend to be more renters via Netflix and try to see some of the bigger movies in the theater. So, I have seen Transformers, The Ugly Truth, and Marley and Me recently and Marley and Me wins for best of that bunch.
I loved the first Transformers and the second one was entertaining enough, but it is mainly for my love of Optimus Prime.
The Ugly Truth was just eh. There wasn't one moment where I actually laughed because it felt as though I had seen it all before a million times, but now it was cruder.
Marley and Me was a cute, funny, and endearing story that may have made me cry. I now want to read the book the story is based on.

Watched Sherlock Holmes and Avatar this weekend. Both are very good but Avatar is a must see in 3-D. 2 months, 2 weeks ago
Is it bad that I have seen The Hangover 3 times? Funniest flick in 5+ years... 6 months, 3 weeks ago
Watched, "Worlds Greatest Dad" a few weeks ago and let me tell you, it is amazing, but definitely not what you would expect.
It is a HILARIOUS movie in a very dark way. You never feel comfortable laughing because you know its wrong to do so but you can't help it. The movie is also full of irony that will hit you hard.
Great movie, don't watch it with the kids :D

In general, there is way too much screaming in [movies] when I'm in the other room trying to get something done. 2 months, 2 weeks ago
All the theaters are full up for Avatar and Sherlock Holmes. Maybe I'll go see the Road instead and the others in a few weeks after the rush dies down. 2 months, 3 weeks ago
The other day, on TBS, "Meet the Parents," "Nacho Libre," and "School of Rock" were on.

Tried out Xbox Live's new Zune service and rented out The Hangover. Paid for the non HD stream but the quality was as good as HD as far as I could tell.
Superb film. Not many get me laughing out loud when I'm watching a film on my own but this did. Highly reccommended for solo or group viewing. Top stuff.
